Amber Heard filed a lawsuit to have her defamation case declared unlawful

Lawyers for the 36-year-old actress argue that the trial, which ended in early June, was held with serious violations.

The legal battle between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp seems to be far from over. The actress filed documents for a new trial and recognition of the decision rendered not in her favor was illegal. A stumbling block this time was confusion with the jury.

It turned out that one of them, registered on April 11 in the Virginia court under the number 15, aged 77, was not the 52-year-old man who eventually took part in the previous trial. The two men had the same last names and addresses, so there was a switcheroo, Heard's attorneys say.

Lawyers insist that their client was not given "due process" and she is asking for a new trial to be scheduled. Recall, it was initiated in April, by the actress' ex-husband Johnny Depp. At the end of the trial, Heard was found to be the losing party and must pay her opponent a total of $13 million.
