Quentin Tarantino worked with Brad Pitt twice, on Inglourious Basterds (2009) and Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood" (2019). And according to the director, the actor's behavior on set is remarkable. "I noticed it when we were shooting 'Inglourious Basterds,'" Tarantino told GQ. "I didn't feel like I was looking at Brad through the camera lens. I felt like I was watching a movie. It was just his presence in the quadrangle of the lens that gave that impression."
On the scale of talent, Tarantino compared Pitt to such notable actors as Paul Newman, Robert Redford and Steve McQueen. "He works in the style of movie stars of the past. It's just a different kind of person. And honestly, I don't think you can accurately describe it, because that's like describing a shining star."
Quentin also noted that in addition to external beauty, excellent physical shape and a sense of humor, Pitt has a very valuable quality for an actor. "He's incredible at understanding the essence of a scene. He may not express it, but he instinctively grasps it right away."
