Steve Carell shared the other day the joy of reuniting with John Krasinski in the upcoming film "Imaginary Friends". Prior to that, the actors worked for several years on the super-popular series "The Office." In it, Carell played Dunder Mifflin's regional manager Michael Scott, and Krasinski played sarcastic salesman Jim Halpert. At the end of its ninth season, "The Office" received its 42nd Emmy Award nomination and won five of them. And Carell later took home a Golden Globe for his work on that TV show.

Although Krasinski rose to fame as an actor thanks to "The Office," he has made a name for himself as a director since the series ended. He directed the dramatic comedy "The Hollars" (2016) with Anna Kendrick and Richard Jenkins, as well as the horror films "A Quiet Place" (2018) and "A Quiet Place 2" (2020). Now John is going to not only sit in the director's chair of "Imaginary Friends," but also play one of the lead roles in the film with Steve. Ryan Reynolds, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Fiona Shaw and Louis Gossett Jr. have also signed on to direct.

In an interview with EW, Carell admitted that he looks forward to working with Krasinski again. "I haven't started working with him yet, but I can't wait anymore. I'm looking forward to the joy and the fun, he's the best, and he's a great director," Steve noted. "I'm going to make him go through all the steps, you know? I'll make him work hard. I can be one of those feisty actors who doesn't always agree or even don't come out of the trailer sometimes. You thought you hired some friends, but you're wrong!", Carell jokingly added.
