The former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, who left the octagon undefeated, is used to being constantly compared to his friend and apprentice fighter Islam Makhachev.
Commenting on another comparison Khabib did not rule out that in the future Makhachev will be even bigger star in the promotion than he was. But for that, according to Nurmagomedov, the athlete should be given top champion fights more often.
"Definitely, Islam can beat me. If he beats Charles Oliveira, then Benil Dariush and other stars of the promotion, he can become the greatest lightweight of all time. But for that, the UFC has to give him a chance to prove himself in real fights," Khabib concluded.
